“Of all the forms of inequality,

injustice in health care is the most

shocking and inhumane.”

Our response is to…

Educate.

Motivate.

~ Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Innovate.

WELCOME

The Montgomery-Solomon Museum of Black Culture and Medicine will open in 2026. Our current virtual space is designed to give a glimpse of our mission.

Our MISSION is to build public awareness about the harmful legacy and consequences of the medical exploitation of black bodies and health inequities in America. We will use historical and contemporary narratives, and engaging exhibitions to promote cultural competency, compassionate care, and health equity to improve the health outcomes of Black patients.

Our VISION is to interpret and share the history and culture of Black medicine to inspire the next generation of medical students and develop a pipeline of Black physicians who can provide health care access to marginalized populations. Let's get started championing CHANGE!

With unwavering resolve,

Dr. L'Bertrice Montgomery Solomon
